Justin Bieber took to Twitter to apologize to his fans for giving the paparazzi the finger.

Bieber gave photographers the middle finger as he and his girlfriend Selena Gomez were leaving Maggiano's after celebrating his 17th birthday at the restaurant on March 1. He admitted to losing his temper and regretted his actions.

Bieber tweeted, "had a great bday and at the end of the night we got surrounded by paps and i reacted in a way i know better. im sorry #killthemwithkindness."

He continued, "it's not always easy but i know better than to react in anger."

On a happier note, he gave thanks to his fans for making his birthday wish come true. "On a better note i need to say THANK U to my fans. we raised over 40k for @charitywater for my bday. we together #madeachange."

Bieber had urged fans to donate at least $17 to the Charity: Water foundation, which provides clean water to those in need. Bieber has already helped raise more than $44,000 (and growing), which surpassed the $17,000 campaign goal.

And in more charity news, Bieber's hair sold on eBay yesterday for $40,688.

Bieber, who cut his hair last week, wanted to use his locks to help raise money for charity and shared them with Ellen DeGeneres just one day after cut.

DeGeneres put the locks up on eBay, and within the first hour, Bieber's hairs were already up to $10,000 in bids. The auction ended yesterday and helped raise $40,688 for the Gentle Barn, an animal rescue organization in Santa Clarita, Calif., which was chosen by DeGeneres.

Justin Bieber can’t get enough of new girlfriend, Selena Gomez. Maria Canals-Barrera revealed that Justin, 17, continues to visit the Wizards of Waverly Placeset as much as he can, just to see Selena, 18. In fact, he was on set right before the Oscars!

Maria told us at the QVC Pre-Oscar Party held Friday before the Academy Awards that Justin visited the set the previous week. And when we asked how he treats Selena Maria revealed he’s “very sweet” to her.

Justin is not only good to Selena, but treats the entire cast with respect. “He’s very nice, he’s very humble and he’s a great guy.”

Does she think he’s a good match for her on-screen daughter? “I think he’s adorable,” she laughed, “His movie was terrific.”

Maria adds that the couple are compatible because of their similar lifestyles and superstar status. While Maria is happy for their success, she warned Selena to take things slow with her new man.

“I advise her on love and romance and not giving your heart away so fast, and taking your time to grow up,” she explained. The actress also commented on how Selena’s been dealing with her fame, which has skyrocketed now thanks to her singer boyfriend. “I can only imagine the pressures with somebody so famous and so talented … acting is what she loves to do, so I’m not worried about her at all because you have to love it and you have to have the passion, and she’s got it.”

Selena and Justin have been spending a lot of PDA time together between his 17th birthday party and their shared Oscar night, and with regular set visits to her Disney show, it sounds like he’ll do anything to stay by her side! Justin seems head over heels in love with Selena.

Justin Bieber can no longer perform at concert venues without seats for fear of fans being seriously injured.

Rabid Bieber fans have forced the 'Never Say Never' singer's management to put their foot down and refuse to book the star at any arenas or other venues with standing-room only space.

Bieber's bodyguard, Kenneth Hamilton, recently told Rolling Stone that he fears for some of the young fans' safety, saying "You've got a mob pushing, and even if it's little girls, they're crawling on top of each other with their arms and elbows, and getting injured."

Safety and security issues regarding fans' 'fever' for Bieber have been an issue for quite some time. Last April, a Bieber concert in Sydney was cancelled after fans broke down a crowd barrier and stampeded forward, crushing young fans against the stage.

In December, Bieber had to stop a fan fight in Pittsburgh, after several girls fought over a towel he threw into the audience.

Bieber has even had his own brushes with fans and had to escape on a segway from a mob of girls chasing him before a concert last summer in Glendale, Ariz. Most recently, over-zealous fans became frantic, even sending death threats, when Grammy winner Esperanza Spalding beat out Bieber in the Best New Artist category. His rumored girlfriend, singer Selena Gomez, has also received similar threats from fans via Twitter.

The new restriction may also put an end to some of Bieber's smaller appearances, including CD signings, which the artist has cancelled in the past for security reasons.

Management has reportedly confirmed all seated venues for Bieber's upcoming My World tour in Europe, which kicks off in the UK on March 4.

Selena Gomez did an interview in late 2010 with Radio Disney in which she talked about Justin Bieber’s hair and how annoying it was when he would flip his Bieber Swoosh during their conversation. She says in the interview that she would love to cut his hair so that he would stop flipping it!

Sunday night was a big night for teen superstar, Justin Bieber and his Wizards of Waverly Place girlfriend, Selena Gomez.

The pair took their relationship public by attending the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party together, posing for their first official photos as a couple.

A nerve-racking moment which they clearly needed a good night's sleep to prepare for...

According to UsMagazine.com, the young couple stayed at a penthouse suite at the St. Regis Monarch Beach in Dana Point, California before the event.

A source told the mag that during their stay at the hotel, Justin and Selena were "affectionate, cuddling and holding hands" as they enjoyed a walk along the beach.

Not only that but the couple enjoyed a romantic dinner at the resort's four star restaurant, Stonehill Tavern.
